The Interpreting Mentorship Program is a professional development tool for novice interpreters seeking to enhance all aspects of interpreting, including knowledge and use of language, ethics, process management, business practices and interpersonal relations. Interpreters new to the state also benefit greatly from opportunities to network and become acclimated to work in Massachusetts.

Mentoring for Performance Exams
Mentoring for Performance Exams provides one-to-one mentoring sessions to participants who have passed the interview portion of the state interpreter screening and are preparing to take the performance examination(s). In our private sessions we will look at your work, discuss strategies you can use to showcase your strengths in a testing situation, and practice employing those strategies with support and feedback in order to maximize your current skills when you take the screening.

ASL Mentorship Program
The ASL Mentorship Program provides one-to-one mentorship in ASL with a Deaf mentor. The goal of the ASL Mentorship Program is to enhance mentees' ASL fluency. Mentoring pairs also engage in social interactions in order to expand cultural awareness and competencies.

ASL/Interpreting Mentorship Program
The ASL/Interpreting Mentorship Program provides opportunities for new interpreters across the state of Massachusetts to participate in 10 hours of one-to-one mentorship with a Deaf mentor plus 10 hours of work groups focusing on ASL enhancement and interpreting practice. Work with Deaf mentors and work groups will be available in each of five regions across the state: Greater Boston, Northeast, Southeast, Central and Western Massachusetts.
