# # Guy-a-lect: Interpreting Male Register
The field of interpreting is dominated by women - many of whom voice for men as a substantial part of their profession. One part of our process often left unexplored in our self-reflection is how our experience as women impacts language choices and what the consequences of such choices are. This workshop is a first step toward exploring and applying communication theory related to gender to our work into spoken English. It goes beyond powerful and powerless language. Simple, gender guided choices should quickly reveal an interpersonal impact for your ongoing, or one-time, Deaf, male consumers.
